barking and the fall

asher is sick again. after he just got over a sinus infection last week and finished off the amoxicillan. he has now caught the croup. poor guy was feeling a bit out of sorts on sunday, then later that evening he started having this cough that sounded like a barking seal. after a sick walk in visit to the doctor, he confirmed that it was the croup. prescription: rest, steam, fridge blast, vaporizer, and baby motrin. taken in any order. he really hasn't been himself. shades of the colic days were reappearing...but definitely not as bad. asher is a mover and shaker, doesn't like sitting still cuz he doesn't want to miss anything, so for him to be cuddly and clingy i knew something was not right with little man.

felix felt that we needed to remove the bassinet from the pack n play because asher was sitting up and able to put his hand on the rail of the pack n play. felix was thinking asher would eventually pull himself up and over and fall out. i on the other hand didn't think it could be possible plus kinda inconvenient for me to place him lower in the pack n play. well...even in asher's illness he managed to climb out of the bassinet portion of the pack n play and do a faceplant onto the floor. all we heard was a loud thud and a very loud cry. we ran and saw asher face down on the floor with kona's bandana covering his head. we were shocked, feeling guilty, and a bit impressed at asher's determinance to scale the bassinet wall =). little guy was fine after a long holding and comfort nursing.

so felix quickly took the bassinet out and asher slept in the pack n play safely.
